title: lyrics from the smashing pumpkins' "today"
Today was such a beautiful day...high 60s and perfectly sunny.
I walked around the city and ate frozen yogurt in the park.
Today was emotional, but today was good.
Very good.
I hope everyone is enjoying their todays.

irving penn

"A good photograph is one that communicates a fact, touches the heart, leaves the viewer a changed person for having seen it. It is, in a word, effective." - Irving Penn (1917-2009)

A master of his art, he will be missed.

Jumelle, a clothing store in Brooklyn, seems like an awesome store. I've not been lucky enough to visit in person, but their website selection is fabulous. It's a high-end store, so many of the pieces are fairly pricey...but even the items that are far out of my reach are still nice to look at and gather inspiration from. Above are some of my favorites.
heimstone beaded belt - $215.
karen walker sunglasses - $210.
lover bodysuit - $295.
3.1 phillip lim mohair vest - out of stock.

This 19 year old beauty from Russia is simply stunning. I love her look - and she is currently one of my favorite girls to see on the runway.

negative space

images via

Viktor & Rolf spring 2010 rtw -- like a Henry Moore sculpture, this collection seems to highlight negative and positive space. While these dresses may not be wearable for many, I have to admit that I am intrigued by them. They are certainly memorable and bold, reminiscent of great architecture. I cannot stop looking at them. What do you think?
