Mary McDonald has long been a favorite designer of mine, so when I heard that she would be on Bravo's new show "Million Dollar Decorators," I was thrilled. I really admire her bold use of color and her willingness to combine different patterns/textures that you wouldn't neccessarily put together. That said, some of my personal favorites she has designed are the more muted rooms and those in which she uses lots of creams with splashes of black. It doesn't get much more glamorous than this.

This is her first collaboration with Yvan Mispelaere, and a successful one for sure. In typical dfv style, there were lots of bold prints throughout the collection (not shown here). They were great as well, but I tend to gravitate toward the less graphic, more simple silhouettes, like those above. Beautiful. I'm particularly loving the rust and blue color combo in photo two.

I just discovered these Balenciaga 'Arena' Chelsea boots on this lovely blog, and I cannot get them out of my head. They are available online at Browns for $766. They are just perfect. Bella Notte has long been a favorite of mine. I love how you can mix and match the various fabrics - linen, velvet, satin, lace - and colors - lighter colors like white, champagne, petal, fawn, and ginger with richer ones like charcoal, graphite, amethyst, chocolate, and forest. Aren't these lovely names? The combinations are truly endless. I'm also a huge fan of the long skirted and layered dust ruffle. The more puddle going on, the better (to an extent, of course).

Angelic, dreamlike, cozy, and beautiful -- this is what a bed should look like to me.

Olivia Palermo is, hands down, one of the best dressed girls out there. She is so tailored without looking too contrived. She pulls off the masculine look better than anyone else and her accessories are always spot-on.

Like her personal style, her apartment is just as fashionable and glamorous, with pops of color and sleek lines (I love the tufted cream chair with pink piping.)

I'd like to think that I can appreciate most design styles - modern, traditional, eclectic, shabby chic, art deco, rustic, and on and on; however, we are all, of course, drawn to certain looks/moods. Though I'm still not sure how to define mine in words, this photo captures my aesthetic more than any other photo. Ever. Perhaps that will change over time, but ever since I laid eyes on this bedroom about two years ago - it was love at first sight - it has stayed with me. Can't get it out of my head. Designed by the amazing Alberto Pinto, I admit that I've never seen any more photos/views of this bedroom. This little snapshot is all I have. But it is all I need. The soft colors, the luxurious fabrics, the proportions and scale...it is all just perfect (minus, of course, the electrical outlet and cord...I know I am nitpicking, but I can't help but notice it and wish it weren't there!) In fact, I don't even want to see the whole room, for it can't get better than this, can it?

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin's Tribeca apartment via curbed. Designed by Roman and Williams, this apartment is right up my alley, especially palette-wise. So soft and airy and feminine. And how adorable is Apple's room (the bed with the branch-like canopy)?
