Mary McDonald has long been a favorite designer of mine, so when I heard that she would be on Bravo's new show "Million Dollar Decorators," I was thrilled. I really admire her bold use of color and her willingness to combine different patterns/textures that you wouldn't neccessarily put together. That said, some of my personal favorites she has designed are the more muted rooms and those in which she uses lots of creams with splashes of black. It doesn't get much more glamorous than this.

for my studio class this past spring, these were my concept boards for the commercial project. the first has more ideas going on. the second is a bit "muddier," as I played with opacity, but the images are more unified.

so I ask, which do you like better aesthetically?
