I don't wear a lot of pink, but apparently I own a good amount of pink objects. For you James Frey fans, you might like to know that my copy is signed! When he was promoting My Friend Leonard, I went to one of his book readings/signings and got this book and A Million Little Pieces signed. Now I know there was that whole Oprah controversy - did he lie? should it have been called fiction? - but I still love these two books...and I think Mr. Frey is a brilliant writer.

In case you're wondering, the lip colors are: Smashbox pout, Lancome daiquiri, and Bobbi Brown hot pink. The blush is Bobbi Brown pale pink. It's the only blush I've used for years now. Also, wallet-Marc Jacobs. (It's kind of a dirty pink now...I guess I'm tough on my wallet.) Cosmetic bag-Fendi (circa 2002 ish). Headband-American Apparel.

I fell in love with Donna Karan's spring 2010 rtw collection. Above are some of my favorites. So wearable and so beautiful! I love the soft colors and soft fabrics...there is something ethereal and dreamlike about the clothes. Also in this collection are a few bolder pieces in a bright orange. They are just as beautiful, but speak to me in a different way. The muted pieces really fit my mood right now. Enjoy.

let them laugh

These are the type of shoes, in my opinion, that certain people might laugh at -- "THEY cost $350?! What were you thinking? They are slippers. Almost elf-like. Almost moonwalk-ish." Well, well...I would have to strongly disagree. I adore the shape of this shoe...and I can only imagine how comfortable they are. I just love these shoes and could wear them every day. Once in a while you stumble upon a bag that really speaks to you - calls out your name - says "buy me, buy me, buy me!" This Emilio Pucci clutch did just that. I love the organic but hard shape and metallic shine. If only you weren't $1,385...

I try hard to post photos that I have saved with credits, but my desire to credit appropriately leaves some amazing photos out of this blog and only to be enjoyed by my eyes (a sad, sad thing)...so I wanted to do a post of many "unknowns." Enjoy.

Also, I am currently reading Hemingway's The Old Man and the Sea (1952). It's a wonderful book so far, and just last night I came across a beautiful quote. Here it is:

not as confused as i look

Now that the weather is starting to change, I wanted to give my Calvin Klein shoes one last day of wear. I will see you in the spring, my lovely shoes. Really, they have been quite wonderful - a high heal to give me height and still they are considerably comfortable. These aren't the best photos of them, so I might do another post with them before it turns too chilly. Oh, and please don't mind my skills in front of the camera...I'm new at this.

On another note, I am very excited to start piling on the layers for fall. More outfit posts to come.

His work - or shall I say his creative genius - consistently shows up in fashion, design, architecture, and even philosophy. This American "bad boy" lives forever in his paintings...and in the art and design he has inspired.

i am, i am, i am

I thought I'd share these two photos of my new booties -- Carlos by Carlos Santana. I got these for $100...which I think is a great deal. Admittedly, they are not the most comfortable shoes, but they could have been a lot worse. I don't think I gave them a fair trial, since my feet were already wounded (and I mean wounded - bleeding in 4 different spots) from another pair of shoes. Ahhh, what we do for fashion's sake. So, when I wear them next I will be sure to have healthy, unbruised feet and give them a fair try.

For those of you who follow my blog, you may realize this is the first time I'm doing a post on myself. My identity (face) is officially revealed. Oh, the fright!
