Olivia Palermo is, hands down, one of the best dressed girls out there. She is so tailored without looking too contrived. She pulls off the masculine look better than anyone else and her accessories are always spot-on.

Like her personal style, her apartment is just as fashionable and glamorous, with pops of color and sleek lines (I love the tufted cream chair with pink piping.)

in a nutshell

I'd like to think that I can appreciate most design styles - modern, traditional, eclectic, shabby chic, art deco, rustic, and on and on; however, we are all, of course, drawn to certain looks/moods. Though I'm still not sure how to define mine in words, this photo captures my aesthetic more than any other photo. Ever. Perhaps that will change over time, but ever since I laid eyes on this bedroom about two years ago - it was love at first sight - it has stayed with me. Can't get it out of my head. Designed by the amazing Alberto Pinto, I admit that I've never seen any more photos/views of this bedroom. This little snapshot is all I have. But it is all I need. The soft colors, the luxurious fabrics, the proportions and scale...it is all just perfect (minus, of course, the electrical outlet and cord...I know I am nitpicking, but I can't help but notice it and wish it weren't there!) In fact, I don't even want to see the whole room, for it can't get better than this, can it?

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin's Tribeca apartment via curbed. Designed by Roman and Williams, this apartment is right up my alley, especially palette-wise. So soft and airy and feminine. And how adorable is Apple's room (the bed with the branch-like canopy)?

I love my tea. Always have. I prefer english breakfast with a bit of skim milk and splenda. Even more, I love my tea in adorable homes (mugs) like these.

Two lovely guest bedrooms. Both dominated by whites and soft blues. And both with a center nightstand. Which do you prefer? I lean towards the first, though I love the slipcovered chairs at the foot of the beds in the second.

Just finished Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray and I highly recommend it. Wilde writes with wit and humor and is a pleasure to read. The novel is full of memorable quotes...
